元音字母是什么在英文中，5个元音字母分别为：a[ei]、e[i:]、i[ ai]、o[eu]、u[ju:] 。

英文5个元音字母音标及读法：英语音标元音：由肺部呼出的气流通过口腔基本上不受发音器官的阻碍而发出的音，叫元音，其中有元音字母6个：a[a:]、o、u[u:]、e[e:]、y[i:]、i[i:] 。
01英语中的5个元音字母Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu各自有两种主要发音，即字母本身读音（所谓元音字母的“长音”）和短音。

02字母组合一般只发一个元音的音，也可以用以上方式注音。例如：单词stay中的字母组合ay应该发字母a本身的读音。这时，在字母组合ay下画横线，在字母a的上方画横线，表示字母组合一起发字母a本身的读音，记做sta-y 。其他字母组合发音的单词以同样方式标记，如： mēat, brěad, cōat等。个别单词可以用“另写注音”的方式做标记，如：单词eight，可以标记为eight（/a-t/）。
03在小学阶段，最主要的元音发音标记就是以上5个元音字母的两种发音。其他元音的发音，可以采取“举例注音”方式，如：单词food元音字母oo的发音，可以用单词blue作为例子标记读音，如： foot（blue）这种“举例注音”方式，是英美国家中学习英语注音的一个常用方式。
